Few lakes have a more commanding or lovely setting than Lake Nakuru which is home to the famous flamingos over 3 million in number painting the lake pink in a spectacular manner!
Lake Nakuru National Park is a wetland ecosystem with some of the most dense animal populations in Kenya.The Lake Nakuru National park has achieved international fame as an animal sanctuary. Both Black and white rhinos are being given a new lease of life through the various conservation methods employed at the park. The Rothschild giraffe is one of the unique animals you can find, other animals include buffalo, leopard, wild dog, zebra, eland, waterbuck and the territorial lion.

In Lake Nakuru, you can take your family or friends for a picnic at the baboon cliff overlooking the lake and have fun with the baboons which will always solicit food from you. It is also a popular bird area and is a must visit for all birders.

Around Lk. Nakuru, you can visit the Menengai crater which is one of the few craters you can drive to the top. You can not walk round the crater but it is possible to climb down to the bottom of the crater with an experienced tour guide since the terrain is rough and filled with wild animals especially snakes.
